The Peterhof Museum Complex – the “capital of fountains” – is one of the most popular museums not only in Russia, but in the whole world. As a former residence of the Russian monarchs, Peterhof brings together the finest achievements in national and international culture. The architecture and decor of Peterhof reflects all the artistic styles of the past and the personal tastes and preferences of every Russian monarch.

Peter the Great planned Peterhof as a royal residence, capable of competing with the finest Western courts — above all, with Versailles. The Lower Park is the most famous part of the entire complex. This regular garden is decorated with many handsome palaces and sculptures, but the most important ornaments are the fountains, drawing millions of visitors every year.

Peterhof palace-ensemble is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is included in the state register of the most valuable cultural objects of the Russian Federation and proudly bears the title of one of the “Seven Wonders of Russia.”

If you come to St.Petersburg in Autumn or Winter, when famous Peterhof fountains do not operate, you can go to Tsarskoye Selo instead and do a tour of the magnificent Catherine Palace.
